air cargo from china to turkey

Our Air Freight Service from China to Turkey

Our air freight service is among the quickest ways you can get your goods from China to Turkey. Within this transportation mode, there are a few different options available for you in terms of shipping calibrations. We can provide Door-to-Door service, Door-to-Airport, Airport-to-Airport, and Airport-to-Door services. We can also provide a full express/courier service.

Door to Door service

A Door-to-Door Service means that your goods will be picked up by the freight forwarder/courier/logistics partner from the factory or retail outlet in China and then delivered all the way to your business or private address in Turkey.

For businesses that would prefer to leave as much of the logistics in the hands of their freight forwarder, it???s the most convenient option. Your goods will be transported from the factory to the port and be guided through packaging, consolidation and customs on both sides.

They will then be sent to your address. For the business then, it can be as easy as placing the order and waiting for the goods to come.

Port-to-Port

In this scenario, your logistics operator is responsible for getting your goods through the customs and onto the main means of transport. You will be responsible for picking it up at the port of arrival.

Door-to-Port

In this scenario, the goods in China will be picked up from the factory and retail outlet and transported to the port where they will be loaded onto the transportation. When they arrive at the port of arrival, you will be responsible for picking them up.

Port-to-Door

In this scenario, either you or your seller will be responsible for loading the goods at the port of departure, from there, the logistics company will make sure they are delivered to your private or business address.

Incoterms for shipping from China to Turkey

Incoterms refer to the agreements between buyers and sellers related to the transportation process. They are normally recognisable as three letter acronyms such as FOB or CIF.They are normally recognisable as three letter acronyms such as FOB or CIF. and seller have a clear agreement in place about who is responsible for the goods at a certain step of the journey.

When you???re importing from China to Turkey, make sure you are fully aware of the incoterms in order to avoid any breaches of contract or disputes with the seller that may arise.

Below are some of the common Incoterms used in trade

EXW incoterm for shipping from China to Turkey

EXW stands for Ex-Works and is a term used in international trade to designate a situation where the buyer is responsible for the cost of transport from a designated location where the seller has made it available.

In short, this means that when you buy a product from a retailer, no transportation is included. In terms of shipping from China, EXW means that the buyer is responsible for the shipping costs and transportation from the factory/sales point to the port in China and onwards.

This means that you essentially have to cover three steps; from the factory to the port: from the Chinese port to the Turkish port;from the Turkish port to your address. In these cases, a Chinese freight forwarding company can help you immensely.

When you???re dealing with a supplier, EXW will generally be the cheapest option. Although obviously you have to pay yourself to transport the goods.

FOB (Free on Board) incoterm for shipping from China to Turkey

FOB refers to an arrangement where the seller is responsible for delivery of goods to the port of departure (port of loading). If you???re shipping from China to Turkey, for instance, this means that the seller will arrange transportation from their factory or retail outlet all the way to the port where it will be loaded onto a ship.

Once the goods are on the ship, the responsibility is then transferred to the buyer, who will be responsible for unloading the goods at the Turkish port. From there you may pick up the goods and pass them through customs yourself, or you can hire a freight forwarder to assist with this stage.

CIF (Cost Insurance Freight) for shipping from China to Turkey

CIF stands for Cost, Insurance, and Freight which are paid by the supplier to cover against the risk of damage while the goods are in transit to their destination port, for example from a Chinese factory all the way to the port in Turkey.

Therefore under a CIF arrangement, the buyer is responsible only for transport from their domestic port to the business address. The Chinese supplier takes responsibility for the goods all the way up until they reach a designated inland or gate terminal in Turkey.

While a CIF arrangement can remove some of the hassle from the shipping process, they can be more expensive than alternatives. Your supplier will likely be using a freight forwarder of their own in these arrangements.

Thus you might want to consider whether it could be a better business strategy to simply invest in your own freight forwarding partner who will take care of the logistics at what will likely be a cheaper price than paying for the CIF arrangement.

The main difference between FOB and CIF is that under CIF arrangements the seller is still responsible for the items while they are on board.

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid, incoterm for shipping from China to Turkey

DDP shipping represents the maximum responsibility for the seller/supplier of the goods. Under this arrangement, the seller is responsible for getting your goods delivered to your door and will handle all of the logistics along the way, including the customs duty at ports.

DAT (Delivered at Terminal), incoterm for shipping from China to Turkey

With this incoterm, the seller is responsible for the delivery of the goods after they have been delivered to a terminal, but before they have passed through customs. If you are using this incoterm, make sure you know exactly where the goods are being delivered to in the port, as terminals can be big places and you want to be sure you can find your goods.

DAP (Delivered at Place) incoterm for shipping from China to Turkey

Under this arrangement, the supplier is responsible for shipping the goods all the way to a named place (such as a warehouse or business address) within the destination country. However, the buyer is still responsible for customs clearance. Be sure to consult with your freight forwarder on this option so you can fully understand your precise obligations.

So, the difference between DDP and DAP, is that under DDP, the seller/supplier takes on the responsibility for everything, except unloading. Whereas under DAP, the buyer for the customs duties, taxes and clearances.

Express Delivery service from China to Turkey

When it comes to speed, express delivery is the best option. Express delivery refers to courier led delivery by companies such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc. As well as speed, express delivery also puts most of the logistics into the hands of the courier company, and may save you on costs such as insurance and using your own transport from port-to-door.

When it comes to customs and duty, generally express delivery companies will pay the custom as the goods pass through the ports and then collect this from the receiving company before delivery.

However, this may be different depending on the express company you choose so be sure to check their rules and regulations when it comes to customs. Your freight forwarder may also be able to assist you with this.

Express shipping is also by far the most expensive option, so if you???re looking to keep your margins tight, then consider whether the advantages of speed and others outweigh the premium cost.

If your company relies on near-instantaneous shipping of small goods, then express delivery services may end up being a good strategy in the long term, as you???ll add value to your company???s reputation for getting goods quickly.

If, on the other hand, you are shipping large quantities of goods in bulk and time is not as important to the business???s bottom line, then you may want to consider other shipping options.

As there are many different companies operating in this sector, there can be a wide variety of companies offering their services, with a correspondingly wide range of prices and schedules.

In terms of cost, this is another area where it pays to balance the advantages and disadvantages of different companies and take a close look at what they are offering. Those who have a premium price may offer economic advantages in other areas such as time or additional services.

If you???re using a freight forwarding/logistic company for the bulk of your goods, and you want to ship some cargo quickly via an Express service, it can be useful to consult with your freight forwarder on the available options for express delivery and which might best suit your needs.

Freight forwarders bring experience, networks and knowledge to international transportation and can draw on this when they advise you on the best shipping strategy. Freight forwarding companies such as Sino Shipping can also help get you the best price for your needs as they already have the knowledge of how the different courier companies measure up.

How can I monitor my express delivery orders?

We know that once you???ve placed an order, you will want to keep an eye on where it is. This is especially true for business where accurate timing is all part of the service. For example, if you???re ordering a specific item for a client or customer, it makes you look professional if you can tell them exactly where their goods are and give an accurate estimate of the time it will take to arrive.

With air freight, and especially express delivery, you can track your goods as they move across the continent. Most express delivery services will have a tracking application on their website. You???ll simply need to enter your order number and then you???ll be given a live update on the status of your goods as well as an estimated time of arrival.

What is the difference between Express and Air Freight?

With express delivery (also known as air courier) you pay a courier company to transport your goods from one address to another. With ???regular??? air freight, we refer to the port-to-port cost of transporting your goods.

After they reach the port of arrival, it is your (or more likely, your freight forwarding partner???s) responsibility to ensure they pass through customs and are delivered. While this is obviously more work and documentation, it is the cheaper option compared to express delivery via courier, even when taking into account partnering with a freight forwarder/logistics company.

With air freight, you need to keep a track of the different additional prices involved for handling your goods after arrival, nevertheless, if you???re shipping larger quantities of goods, air freight will be a more economic choice for your air shipping needs. Of course, if you???re shipping much larger quantities of goods, and time is not a problem, then you may want to look into sea shipping.

Cargo Airlines for shipping from China to Turkey

Cargo airlines are specialist airlines for delivering commercial freight and cargo and if you???re shipping between China and Turkey, this may be an option you wish to pursue. Many cargo airlines are branches of well known airline groups while others exist only as cargo airlines.

Some of the larher courier companies run their own cargo airlines.

Shipping your goods via cargo airlines can bring some advantages, such as speed and the fact that because these airlines are only dealing with cargo rather than commercial passengers, their operations can be more streamlined towards getting your goods on and off the planes.

You are also better able to track and trace your goods as they are transported. The downside to cargo planes is that they might not make sense if you are only transporting small quantities of goods as the price may be greater than other methods.

Cargo airlines may charge a premium for handling smaller packages.

If you???re looking to use cargo planes, we advise contacting your freight forwarder/logistics partner to consult on whether it makes business sense for you.

How to make your air freight run smoother when shipping from China to Turkey.

Whether you???re utilising a specialist cargo plane or just regular air freight, there are a number of things you can do to keep things running smoothly and avoid any delays in the process. If you fail to follow these steps, your goods could not only be delayed, but could be held at customs, or even worse, sent back to China at your expense.

Firstly, you need to ensure that your goods are labelled correctly. This means that your packages should be labelled on two adjacent sides with the contact details of the shipper in both China and Turkey, and the intended receiver of the package.

You???ll also need an air waybill, whether paper or electronic. Also, Airline carriers may also ask you to use their own unique labels on parcels. So make sure you know the regulations of the carrier you will be using.

Your goods should also come with a packing list and invoice that precisely lists the goods you are shipping.

Finally, it???s important that your goods are packaged correctly, so that they do not leak or are damaged in transit. You will need to consider the type of material that is used and it is always best to use fresh material each time. Also try not to overpack and squash as much goods into one parcel as possible.

This kind of packing is more liable to break, which will bring problems of its own. Certain carriers also require that goods are packaged according to their rules.

Your freight forwarding or logistics company can take care of these steps for you as part of their service. They have the knowledge and experience of how to pack and document your goods.

Thus, in order to save yourself the headache of making sure your goods meet the standards of international shipping, it is highly recommended that you seek out a freight forwarder or logistics company such as Sino Shipping for your transport needs.

What are the advantages of shipping by air freight when transporting goods from China to Turkey?

Air freight brings many advantages for importers. Firstly, the speed of air freight is much quicker than shipping by sea. This is not just a question of getting goods quicker, but it???s also near-essential if you???re shipping certain goods that may spoil if transported for lengthy periods of goods.

Another advantage is that air transport is normally a more safer and stable mode of transport for fragile or goods that could break. This is due both to the reduced time in handling and to the means of transportation itself. With both rail and sea, there is a small risk of water or damage due to bumps, etc.

Air freight also allows much more precision when it comes to scheduling your transport logistics. Air travel is rarely delayed meaning your goods will mostly arrive when they are scheduled to. Furthermore, with the higher frequency of flights, you have a much wider choice when it comes to shipping at your convenience.

Another reason for favouring air freight is that it could mean lower insurance premiums as the transportation time is quicker than other methods and thus there is less overall risk of goods being damaged.

A final benefit is that with air freight you don???t need to package the goods as thoroughly as you would have to with sea freight.

However, there are some disadvantages with air freight. Air freight can be much more costly than other methods and it???s not as environmentally friendly either. Air freight also brings limitations to the size of things that can be shipped. Obviously, you won???t be able to ship heavy machinery or trucks via air freight.

Sea freight from China to Turkey

FCL or LCL shipping for your ocean freight to Turkey from China

If you???re shipping via ocean liner from China to Turkey, then you???ll need to consider your options with regards to container shipping. Your shipping logistics are much more than just the choice of the mode of transport. There are many other factors to consider if you are looking to reduce costs.

Make sure to research thoroughly when it comes to this as being armed with knowledge can bring you big savings in the long term.

Choosing a reliable freight forwarder is one way to reduce costs. Freight forwarders with experience and great customer service can make a big difference. The best freight forwarders will be able to consult with you to find a strategy that makes sense for your business needs.

They bring not only a wealth of experience but valuable networks that can lead to savings on both an ad-hoc and established basis.

Sea freight is generally the cheapest option. Within this option it is useful to understand the difference between FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL Less than Container Load) shipping and establish which is better for your needs.

FCL is when you hire a whole container for your own use. LCL is when your goods are transported in a container with goods from other importers and companies.

If you aren???t transporting a lot of goods then LCL is cheaper, but because you are sharing with other businesses, it can also add time to the process. FCL could prove a better option even if you don???t have a full container.

A standard 40 foot container can accommodate 22 standard pallets, with a 20 foot container holding 10 pallets. If you???re shipping large volumes and can fill a container, it makes sense to choose FCL (Full Container Load).

FCL shipping brings many advantages when it comes to logistics as if everything inside the container belongs to one company, then generally this makes things run a lot more smoothly, which can have a cost benefit too.

On the other hand, LCL (Less than a Container Load) refers to shipping where your goods share space within a container with other goods. If you???re okay with that, then LCL shipping (also known as groupage) offers a more economical way to ship smaller quantities that make up less than half of the volume of a full container.

However LCL can also mean that your goods can take longer to arrive as the process of loading and unloading takes longer.

Smart packaging can also help you save money. Packaging goods tightly and safely, can get you more value for the space you occupy, as well as preventing any unnecessary breakages.

You???ll also want to make sure that you know the exact weights of your goods. This can be useful when comparing them to your freight forwarder???s quotes.

Also keep in mind that certain types of freight may require specialised tools when in transit, your freight forwarder. be able to provide you with these to ensure your goods remain in perfect condition!

Advantages & Disadvantages Of Sea Freight

Sea freight is one of the oldest methods of transporting goods around the world. For most destinations worldwide that are importing from China, Air and Sea freight are the two most popular choices for transit.

When choosing between air and sea freight, often your choice may be made for you with the type of goods and the volume you are transporting. Nevertheless, it still helps to consider the various advantages and disadvantages of each.

Firstly, the primary advantage you will have with sea freight is the cost. Shipping via sea is much cheaper than shipping by air, especially if you are shipping large volumes of goods.

Secondly, sea freight is great for when you are shipping large and/or bulky goods. While air freight is limited by the size of the airplane, sea freight can generally handle big goods. Even if your cargo is too large to fit into a regular container there are specialist options available. Your freight forwarder will be able to consult with you on this.

Thirdly, shipping via sea is more eco-friendly than shipping via air. As we are facing a climate crisis, both legislation and consumer demand is moving towards more sustainable means of global interaction. Air freight can be very damaging to the atmosphere with the amount of greenhouse gases it uses.

While sea freight is not carbon neutral either, it is less damaging than air freight for the environment.

Fourthly, Sea freight is a much safer option when it comes to transporting more hazardous goods. Certain items are prohibited on planes and in that case, sea freight will be your best option for shipping.

Finally, sea freight tends to be much more efficient when it comes to handling your cargo. By using the container system, goods are packaged efficiently as they are transported across the world.

However, there are some drawbacks to sea freight that you might wish to consider.

Firstly, sea freight is the slowest means of transport. It takes a lot longer than other methods to arrive at your destination. However, this doesn???t need to be a problem if you plan accordingly and order in bulk.By ordering in advance, you can make sure that you aren???t left with no stock in Turkey.

Another potential drawback is the higher risk of damage or security concerns. Of course International shipping is the most popular method of shipping worldwide and the likelihood of your goods being damaged or stolen are very low, but not as low as air freight.

Simply, air freight tends to be a lot more secure owing to the short time of transit and the high security associated with airports

Shipping by sea freight may also incur higher insurance costs. Because sea freight takes longer than other methods, the insurance on your cargo will also be higher. This doesn???t mean that the overall cost will be higher because sea freight is much cheaper than other methods, but it is something you need to take into account when making your business calculations.

How long does the shipping from China to Turkey take?

Different methods of shipping take different lengths. When you???re shipping from China to Turkey, you???ll need to take this into account as part of your business strategy.

For regular mail, the time taken from China to Turkey is around 1-2 weeks. For express delivery services, it can be as little as 3 days. For air freight/cargo, the time from China to Turkey is around 8-10 days. And finally, for sea freight, the time for delivery will be around 30-40 days from China to Turkey.

However, do keep in mind that with sea freight the time can vary according to the port of departure in China the go

Prohibited and Restricted Items

Different countries and carrier companies have different rules and of course different countries too have prohibited items. Please make sure you check these before making an order as it is better safe than sorry

Remember, if you are in doubt about whether your package is safe or legal to ship, then make sure you consult with one of our expert staff. It will cost a lot of money in the long run if you organise a shipping strategy only to find out that the item you want to ship is prohibited.

Do not try to subvert the rules as all parcels are scanned before shipping and if you are found to be trying to ship prohibited items, the package will be returned to you at your own expense.
