Ocean Freight From China to Denmark

You can transport your goods by both FCL and LCL shipping. There are many factors you need to consider when shipping from China to Denmark.

If you???re shipping large volumes and can fill a container, it makes sense to choose FCL (Full Container Load).

The other advantage of the full container load is that your items are kept separate from other importers, which can also mean that they are more secure.

FCL shipping is also quicker than LCL because the container doesn???t need to go through any consolidation or deconsolidation process at the port.

As the name suggests, this method of shipping uses the full shipping container and is thus suitable for loads that are at least that quantity.
If your individual quantities are less than the container, you could LCL or employ a strategy of bundling multiple orders into one container. Flat-rate pricing makes FCL shipping a good deal.

On the other hand, LCL (Less than a Container Load) refers to shipping where your goods share space within a container with other goods.

This is suitable for small quantities of goods and when air freight is too expensive. Because the quantity is less than a container, it will cost less than full container shipping.

However, there might be a small additional time to wait LCL delivery involves the consolidation (packing) and deconsolidation (unpack) of your goods from the rest of the container items prior to departure and after arrival.

If you???re ok with that, then LCL shipping (also known as groupage) offers a more economical way to ship smaller quantities that make up less than half of the volume of a full container.

Air Freight from China to Denmark

If time is of the essence and you need to get your goods from China to Denmark quickly, then air freight is what you need. However, be aware that the price you pay for speed and flexibility can be a lot higher than ocean freight.

How Much Does it Cost to Ship Cargo From China to Denmark?

There???s no set price for shipping from China to Denmark and there are numerous factors that play into a final price, such as size, weight and volume of your goods as well as the method of transport you prefer and your time requirements.
Weight and size are key factors in deciding which method of shipping to use.

For smaller parcels, anywhere between 35kg and 100kg, air freight is probably going to be the most economical option for you.
Anything above that, will be more cost-effective via ocean freight, unless you need it urgently and are willing to pay a premium for air freight.

If you have a parcel under 35kg in weight it???s recommended that you use a courier service.

Should You Choose Ocean Freight or Air Freight?

Ocean Freight

Ocean shipping is popular for transporting cargo and consignments from China to Denmark.

Ships that transport goods are loaded with containers of either 20ft or 40ft in size.

Containers can hold a lot of things, but just in case your goods are unsuitable for container shipping your freight forwarder could arrange for break-bulk shipping.

In what follows we???ll discuss the two options for container shipping: FCL and LCL.

LCL FREIGHT SHIPPING

If you have enough goods to fill six standard pallets and your goods are over 100kg, the LCL shipping from China to Denmark might be the best choice for you.

Because you???ll be sharing your container with other goods from other companies, the process of shipping can be a little more complicated as the container contents will need to be consolidated at the port of origin and then deconsolidated at the port of destination.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR FCL FREIGHT SHIPPING

FCL shipping means having a container all to yourself. If this is the option you choose the size of your container (either 20ft or 40ft) will depend on the size of the goods.

Furthermore, while you may want to book a container for your sole use, if your total goods are less than six pallets, this may be impractical and not very cost-effective.

A 20ft container will hold up to ten pallets while a 40ft can hold double that.

FCL containers are sealed and will remain so all the way to your destination address in Denmark, unless customs official select it for inspection. FCL is the quickest method of shipping via ocean freight.

Air Freight

If you???re looking for extra quick delivery then air freight might be for you and is the quickest way to import from China to Denmark.

Air shipping makes sense not only for it???s speed and quicker transit time, but if your goods are perishable, you need the highest level of security, or if your delivery addresses are close to the airport.

It also makes sense to ship by air freight if you want to pay less insurance and if your goods can be shipped on just a small number of pallets.
